About Us

A Few Words About Us

My name is Annette Waters and I have been a practicing, licensed, credentialed, and ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathology since 2008.

I am a single mom of an amazing 10 year old daughter! I love my family, teaching, watching children explore the world, Chai Lattes, cooking and living a healthy, active fit life.

Megan Hodge (another SLP) describes the speech profession by saying…

“… A career in speech-language pathology challenges you to use your intellect (the talents of your mind) in combination with your humanity (the gifts in your heart) to do meaningful work that feeds your soul… I am proud to be a member of what I consider to be the best profession on earth”

I too am proud to be a certified Speech Language Pathologist. I believe that quality human connection is the most essential part of the human experience and that it is through communication that we are able to make those connections, which we learn and grow from. I have a passion for helping others communicate more effectively, inspiring minds to see their true potential, as well as educating all my clients on the beauty of life and the importance of a healthy, mind and body.

I believe we are all capable of greatness beyond our belief and I strive to teach all my clients to be confident in who they are and in their many strengths.

My Education and Work Experience

I attended the University of San Francisco where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Two years later, I attended San Jose State University where I earned my Master of Science degree in Communicative Disorders and Sciences, Speech-Language Pathology.

I have worked as an accomplished Speech and Language Pathologist and child educator since 2008 and have extensive education and clinical experience. From early intervention, to elementary school K-5, Middle School 6-8, clinical private practice, director of an Autism Center for adolescents, social skills training, education, and implementation of therapy/groups specializing in social thinking concepts, academic tutoring, collaborative team assessments/therapy intervention, clinical supervisor for newly graduated speech language pathologist, cognitive wellness training and education/teaching, the list goes on and on.

Although I loved my elementary school job, I decided I wanted to take a leap of faith and expand my private speech therapy business to create a company based around a learning experience like no other. MySckool, is unique, client driven and strives to help kids become what they truly want to be when they grow up, “HAPPY”.
